On the Coinbase Pro project blog, Information was published regarding the launch of trading in the digital asset which is scheduled for Monday, April 26. The blog discusses the intention of the Coinbase team to launch USDT trading in pairs with cryptocurrencies (bitcoin, Ethereum), USD Coin stablecoin and fiat (euro, US dollar, British pound).
Coinbase Pro, the Coinbase trading platform for professional traders, now has the functionality for entering deposits in Tether stablecoins (USDT). For the initial stage, the developers plan to organize support for Tether of the ERC-20 standard on the blockchain, the second largest cryptocurrency by capitalization, Ethereum.
Tether will be officially listed on Coinbase Pro on April 26. Users of all jurisdictions in which the trading platform operates, with the exception of New York State, will be able to conduct transactions with the stablecoin. Earlier, as a result of the Bitfinex and Tether litigation, companies paid $ 18.5 million to the New York City government and ceased operations in the state.
It is noteworthy that the Coinbase team gave attention to Tether amid the release of the news that auditors confirmed the full provision of the stablecoin with the reserves of the issuing company.
Representatives of the trading platform drew attention to the fact that Tether is currently not available on Coinbase.com and in the mobile applications of the exchange. When intending to open trading with stablecoin on the platforms, the developers promised to publish a separate statement.
