Disney is reportedly widening its search for a successor to CEO Bob Iger, according to sources cited by The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday. The company is now considering external candidates, including Andrew Wilson, CEO of video game giant Electronic Arts.
Previously, Disney’s succession plan was viewed as an internal contest among four long-serving Disney executives, but the search has expanded as Iger approaches the end of his contract in 2026.
Following the news, Disney’s stock traded down approximately 0.7%.
